(B) Quantification of crystal violet-stained glass-adhered cells in 24-well plate assay. Adherence of wild-type (WT) and MSΔlamA (lamA) strains was measured in arbitrary units (A.U.). Means ± standard errors (error bars) of three 24-well plates, with six wells measured per plate are shown. Values that were statistically significant different from the WT value (P < 0.001) are indicated by an asterisk. Statistical comparisons were done using the Student's t test (two-tailed, two-sample equal variance).
