Pipeline for Heart Valve Generation with NURBS. A point cloud (the set of blue points) was generated to fit NURBS curves (green arcs) to define the free edge $\left(S_1\right)$, basal attachment ($S_3$), and truncated commissures of the leaflet ($S_2$ and $S_4$) (a). A NURBS surface was then constructed to connect these curves by generating ruled surfaces connecting opposite curves (b). This surface was then extruded to represent the leaflet as a solid by offsetting the surface in the direction of its outward normal (c).
