Overall ADG of pigs fed diets with increasing BA intake. The break point (a 1-slope broken-line analysis) was 7.5 g (standard error = 0.019; P < 0.05) of daily BA intake of pigs. The equation was: ADG, g/d = 654 − 8.65 × z1 (BA intake, g/d), R² = 0.46 if BA intake is ≥ breakpoint, then z1 = 0. The optimal BA level was 0.53% for ADG of pigs calculated based on overall ADFI (1,427 g/d). The experimental unit was a pen and the number of observations was 45.
