On postoperative day 1, AST (black solid line) and ALT (black double line) peaked and then gradually decreased to within the normal range. Cr (multiplied by 10; black uneven dotted line) and eGFR (black dotted line) were initially at abnormal levels immediately after surgery but showed improvement over the next two to three days. As the patient’s circulation remained stable, he was extubated on postoperative day 2 and transferred to the general ward on postoperative day 3. His overall condition continued to improve without progression to multiple organ failure.
