Alt text: Survival plot of age × survival probability illustrating that marmots who called in the 25th percentile were more likely to survive than animals who called in the 75th percentile.

Survival probability of yellow-bellied marmots (Marmota flaviventer) based on the rate that they emitted alarm calls as an adult. We illustrate the 25th and 75th percentiles of log10 rates of alarm calling. Results were based on 275 individuals collected over 20 years and were analyzed using a Cox proportional hazards model after removing individual as a random effect.
