The function of patulin biosynthetic genes was obtained from the information publicly available on NCBI for P. expansum NRRL 35695 and in the previous study (Li et al., 2015) for P. expansum T01, which is shown in the parenthesis.

The number of introns in the parenthesis was obtained from P. expansum NRRL 35695, P. expansum T01, and A. clavatus NRRL 1 in the previous studies (Li et al., 2015; Tannous et al., 2014).
