Flowchart illustrating treatment strategies for femoral head fractures. Pipkin type III fractures undergo clinical and axillary examinations. Treatment decisions depend on fracture location relative to the fovea centralis. If inferior or superior, open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) is recommended for young or middle-aged patients without arthritis. If comminuted or with arthritis in elderly patients over sixty-five, total hip arthroplasty (THA) or hemiarthroplasty (HA) is advised due to non-fixability and joint disruption.
