Tup11 and Tup12 prevent induction in response to inappropriate stresses. (A) Strains used were wild type (w.t.) (NT4) and tup11Δ tup12Δ (SW76). Mid log cultures growing at 30°C in YE5S (lanes 1 and 4) were incubated with H₂O₂ (final concentration 6 mM) for 15 min (lanes 2 and 5) or shifted to 42°C for 15 min (lanes 3 and 6). Total RNA was prepared and subjected to Northern analysis with the indicated probes. The level of cdc2⁺ mRNA was used as a loading control.
