Figure 10.

Figure 10.

The mean number of c-Fos immunoreactive nuclei (per mm2) was compared between sham (closed symbols) and stimulated (open symbols) animals. The rostro-caudal gradient (rostral, mid rostro-caudal, and caudal) was also assessed in VeCb subnuclei (see table 3). The mean number of c-Fos immunoreactive nuclei were reported as the mean per mm2 ± standard error of mean (SEM) for the nodulus (A), uvula (B), paraflocculus (C), and flocculus (D). *: Asterisks (significant difference between sham and stimulated animals); #: number sign (significant difference between VeCb nuclei in the sham group); ^: Arrow (significant difference between VeCb nuclei in the stimulated group). Error bars = standard error of mean (SEM). (n = 4 rats per group). * = p < 0.05, ** = p < 0.01, *** = p < 0.001. # = p <0.05, ## = p < 0.01, ### = p < 0.001. ^ = p <0.05, ^^ = p < 0.01, ^^^ = p < 0.001.
