Figure 5.

The specific neuroanatomic areas from which c-Fos immunolabeled nuclei were counted throughout the rostral, mid rostro-caudal, and caudal flocculus (B, D, F, rostro-caudally) and paraflocculus (C, E, G, rostro-caudally) of the vestibulocerebellum (VeCb). A low magnification image (A) of the mid rostro-caudal flocculus and caudal paraflocculus is shown. Rectangles in B - G represent superimposed reticules on photomicrographs; grid squares (65 × 65 μm) bounded in red represent regions from which c-Fos counts were taken. For each reticule, letters A - E specify rows and 1 – 6 define the columns (represented in F’). Abbreviations: cbw: cerebellar white matter; D: dorsal; Fl: flocculus; ICP: inferior cerebellar peduncle; LR4V: left recess of the 4th ventricle; M: medial; MCP: middle cerebellar peduncle; PFl: paraflocculus; Rt: reticule (grid overlay defining subdivision configurations); SCP: superior cerebellar peduncle; VCA: anterior ventral cochlear nucleus.
