UPAR protein expression is abundant and specific in adenocarcinoma of the endometrium. Immunohistochemistry was performed on paraffin-embedded tissue sections by using a polyclonal goat anti-human UPAR antibody and counter stained with hematoxylin. Normal endometrium tissue does not express UPAR protein (a), whereas UPAR protein is abundantly expressed in specimens representing poorly differentiated (grade 3) endometrioid adenocarcinoma (b). UPAR protein expression is absent in the preimmune antibody-only control (c) and blocked when recombinant UPAR protein is preincubated with UPAR antibody before staining (d).
