Neonatal rat cardiomyocytes were infected with virus and treated with PE (100 µM) or LIF (1000 U/ml) where indicated and as described in legends for Figures 2 and 3. Measurements were made using a computerized morphometric system. Thirty cells were examined for each adenovirus, and this was repeated for three independent experiments.
