Fig. 1 — Panel A shows the experimental timeline. All mice were singly-housed for 1 week, then tested on a 4-day DID procedure of binge-like drinking. DID was followed by 24-hr nest building tests that were scored at 48 h and 7 days post drinking. Panel B shows the average ml/kg water consumption across each day of the DID procedure in the control group, and Panel C shows the average daily g/kg ethanol consumption in the experimental group during the 4-day DID procedure (C). Female mice in the ethanol group drank more than male mice across the 2-hr sessions and on the 4 h binge session, while the water group had no sex difference in intake. * indicates p < 0.05.
