nSREBP-2 induces the CASP-2 gene. HCT116 and HeLa cells were infected by 100 PFU/cell of Ad-control (C) or Ad-nS2 (S2) adenoviruses. (A) The levels of nSREBP-2 and procaspase-2 and -3 protein species were analyzed by Western blotting following infection by each adenovirus. HSC70 was used as a loading control. (B) Total RNA was used for RT-PCR and for Q-PCR (numbers indicate factors of induction by Ad-nS2 versus those by Ad-control). The results from one representative experiment among two with similar results is shown. The variation between experiments did not exceed 7.5%.
