^aTen cells of each strain were measured for germ tube length. Approximately 100 cells were counted for germination. The five genotypes were tested by one-way analysis of variance (germ tube length) and chi square tests (percentage of germ tubes). The four mutations were compared against the wild type and null mutants were compared to revertants by Bonferroni-corrected post-hoc tests (*, corrected P < 0.05; **, corrected P < 0.01).
