Effect of bafilomycin A1 or methylamine on uptake of Ib oligomer in Vero cells. Vero cells were preincubated with or without 500 nM bafilomycin A1 or 20 mM methylamine for 60 min. ¹²⁵I-labeled Ib was added to the cell suspension, and the cells were incubated at 37°C for the time indicated. The cells were dissolved in SDS-sample buffer and subjected to SDS-7.5% PAGE without heating followed by autoradiography. The radioactivity of the oligomer was determined using a Fuji BAS 2000 system.
