Mean daily levels of urinary FSH (ng/mg creatinine) by smoking status during the luteal–follicular phase transition. Day 1 is the first bleed day of a cycle, or the last menstrual period (LMP); negative days are in the previous cycle. Smokers exclude one woman with very high FSH values (see “FSH findings”); with her included, differences would be greater and extend farther into days 7–12.
