Poor functional outcome and functional dependency were defined as modified Rankin Scale scores of 3–6 and of 3–5 at 3 months after stroke onset, respectively. Lean body mass index was categorized into four groups according to quartiles by sex, respectively.
Multivariable model included age, sex, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, smoking, drinking, atrial fibrillation, chronic kidney disease, history of stroke, stroke subtype (cardioembolism, small-vessel occlusion, large-artery atherosclerosis, or others), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score on admission, and reperfusion therapy.
LBMI, lean body mass index; MV, multivariable; FMI, fat mass index; OR, odds ratio; CI, confidence interval.
*Fat mass index was added to multivariable model.
