Local cytokine concentrations in γδ-TCR+ T-cell-deficient mice during experimental P. carinii pneumonia. Male B6.129P2-Tcrdtm1Mom (Tcr-d KO) and C57BL/6 mice, 6 to 8 weeks of age, were intratracheally inoculated with 2 × 105 P. carinii cysts. At specific time points, mice were sacrificed and the lungs were lavaged. Concentrations of IFN-γ (A) were measured in BAL fluid by using ELISA.
