Correlation between the degree of virus permeabilization (loss of MLV NC-GFP) and immunostaining of the capsid. Images of viral particles were analyzed to obtain the green and red fluorescence intensities for each viral particle. The two signals inversely correlated. The degree to which Triton X-100 permeabilized the envelopes was reduced by increasing the time of fixing with paraformaldehyde before adding detergent. Solid lines are linear regressions.
