STAI: The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. CRP: C- reactive protein.

Statistical definitions: α The comparison of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, STAI-1 and STAI-2 scores, and serum CRP levels before and after treatment, as well as the changes between these measurements, were analysed using a repeated-measures t-test. Statistical significance is indicated by p-values in bold. A p-value of < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.
