P. stuartii AarA can activate endogenous EGFr ligands in Drosophila. (a–c) Wing-directed expression of full length SPI (a) or GRK (c) has no effect on wing development. In contrast, coexpression of AarA with SPI (b) or GRK (d) shows a strong synergistic effect, transforming most of the wing into vein-like tissue.
