Correction: Adherence with hormonal therapy in women with breast cancer: a cross-sectional study in Medellin, Colombia

After the publication, the original author of the measurement scale used in the study, Dr. Marty Morisky, has requested that it is necessary to include additional references, a section of acknowledgments with his author details, and to include the score in the definition of adherence levels, as is required for the proper use of the scale.

In compliance with the request, the paragraph stating:

"The dependent variable was adherence to hormonal therapy. The 8-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) is used to assess adherence to treatment. It was administered via telephone to identify behaviors or barriers that interfered with adherence. Based on the score obtained, patients were categorized into high, medium, and low adherence levels 1. For this study, these levels were defined as follows:"

Following the modification, the paragraph is presented as follows:

"The dependent variable was adherence to hormonal therapy. The 8-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) 1-3 is used to assess adherence to treatment. It was administered via telephone to identify behaviors or barriers that interfered with adherence. Based on the score obtained (ranging from 0 to 8), patients were categorized into high (score of 8), medium (scores of ≥6 y <8), and low (scores of <6) adherence levels. For this study, these levels were defined as follows:"

Corrección:Adherencia a la terapia hormonal en mujeres con cáncer de mama: un estudio transversal en Medellín, Colombia

Después de la publicación, el autor original de la escala de medición utilizada en el estudio, el Dr. Marty Morisky, ha comunicado que es necesario incluir referencias adicionales, un apartado de agradecimientos con sus datos de autoría e incluir el puntaje en la definición de los niveles de adherencia, tal como corresponde al uso adecuado de dicha escala.

En cumplimiento de la solicitud, el párrafo que señala:

"La variable de interés (dependiente) fue la adherencia terapéutica. Para medir la adherencia terapéutica, se aplicó la escala de adherencia de Morisky Green (MMAS-8) por medio telefónico, con el fin de detectar los comportamientos o las barreras que interfirieron con la adherencia a la terapia hormonal de cada participante; tras completar el diligenciamiento de la escala, de acuerdo con el puntaje, las pacientes se clasificaron en los niveles de alta, mediana y baja adherencia 1 . Para el presente estudio, estos niveles se definieron de la siguiente forma:"

Con la modificación realizada, el párrafo queda de la siguiente forma:

"La variable de interés (dependiente) fue la adherencia terapéutica. Para medir la adherencia terapéutica, se aplicó la escala de adherencia de Morisky Green (MMAS-8) 1 - 3 por medio telefónico, con el fin de detectar los comportamientos o las barreras que interfirieron con la adherencia a la terapia hormonal de cada participante; tras completar el diligenciamiento de la escala, de acuerdo con el puntaje (de 0 a 8), las pacientes se clasificaron en alta (puntaje de 8), mediana (puntaje entre ≥6 y <8) y baja (puntaje <6) niveles de adherencia.
