The effects of 6-aminonicotinamide and dexamethasone on NAD(P)H oscillations of polarized neutrophils. When neutrophils are exposed to 100 nM FMLP, the frequency of the NAD(P)H oscillations are approximately doubled. 6-aminonicotinamide, a regent that specifically blocks the HMS, has no effect on untreated cells, but blocks the frequency change accompanying FMLP exposure. A similar effect was noted with the inhibitory drug dexamethasone.
