The second population therefore contains only non-kinetochore microtubules. The two velocity distributions are very similar, but the population containing only non-kinetochore microtubules exhibits slightly higher velocities, making the distributions significantly different, as judged by a Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistical test (p-value = 0.0004).
