Assessment of neurogenesis after 4 weeks of antibody washout. Mice treated with anti-NMDAR antibodies and control antibodies displayed similar patterns of total BrdU immunoreactivities in the granular zone (GZ) and subgranular zone (SGZ) as well as a molecular layer (ML) and dentate hilus (DH) (A). Mice treated with anti-NMDAR antibodies demonstrated a higher bright-to-faint BrdU+ cell ratio (B) and lower densities of doublecortin-positive (DCX+) cells in the hippocampal GZ and SGZ compared to the mice treated with control antibodies after 4 weeks of antibody washout (C).
