Chemical shift value differences between experimental values and the random coil values for Cα protons. Random coil values correspond to the values given for peptides in TFE solution (Merutka et al., 1995). A large negative deviation (<−0.10) suggests a turn in the structure and several consecutive residues with negative values suggests a helical conformation exists.
