Central measuring device of the magnetic bead microrheometer setup. The magnet consists of a coil (1600 turns of 0.7-mm copper wire) and a soft iron core, which penetrates the sample chamber. Note the specific shape of the core close to the coil. This part was slightly modified compared to earlier setups, to enable application of high resolution phase contrast objectives.
