The analysis is identical to that in Table 2 for the residual water in the cyanohemoglobin samples except that an approximation to the translational contribution due to diffusion of bulk water near the nitroxide label, computed using the Freed equation with a distance of closest approach of 2.6 Å and a relative diffusion constant of 6 × 10−10 m2/s, has been first removed from the paramagnetic data displayed in Fig. 5 before the analysis.
