Values are counts of participants with column percentages shown in parentheses. Percentages are calculated using all participants enrolled in each metropolitan or municipal area as the denominator. “No follow-up HIV test” indicates participants without a documented HIV test after baseline during the study follow-up period (month-3 and/or month-6). HIV-positive results during follow-up were classified as incident infections when a prior negative test was documented at baseline. Incident HIV infections observed during follow-up were distributed across multiple clinics rather than concentrated at a single site; in Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (East London), the three incident cases occurred at different clinics.
