Expression of pertactin in whole cells of the B. bronchiseptica clinical isolates. Whole-cell lysates of the indicated strains were run in duplicate SDS-polyacrylamide gels and either stained with Coomassie brilliant blue (A) or transferred to polyvinylidene difluoride membranes for immunoblotting and probed with antipertactin MAb BPE3 (B). Band sizes were determined by densitometry and are expressed in units of optical density · millimeter−2 with respect to a calibrated standard.
