The numbers of naïve CD4+ and CD8+ peripheral T cells were lower in Prep1i/i mice than in wild-type mice. Lymph node cells from Prep1i/i and wild-type littermates were stained with FITC-conjugated anti-CD4, APC-conjugated anti-CD8, and PE-conjugated anti-CD44 antibodies. Viable cells were gated according to their forward scatter and side scatter characteristics. The absolute numbers of CD44high and CD44low cells for CD4 and CD8 gated lymphocytes are shown in the histogram. Values that were significantly different are indicated (*, P < 0.05; **, P < 0.01; ***, P < 0.001).
