Young deer (fawns) were screened by IgG1 ELISA to detect M. paratuberculosis infection at two ages, 6 to 8 months and 12 to 15 months. Subsequent production characteristics and death rates in these animals were recorded and matched against the diagnostic status of animals at the two time points. Pos, ELISA positive; neg, ELISA negative.
