Table 4.
Histopathological Findings Stratified by Colposcopic assessment in Women Living with HIV (WLHIV) with Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection.
| Colposcopy findings | HSIL | LSIL | Carcinoma | Inflammation/metaplasia | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Major lesions | 6 | 5 | 1 | 7 | 19 |
| Minor lesions | 11 | 18 | 0 | 16 | 45 |
| Carcinoma | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| Total | 17 | 23 | 2 | 23 | 65 |
This table presents the histological diagnoses, including high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL), low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL), carcinoma, and inflammation/metaplasia, corresponding to colposcopic findings (major lesions, minor lesions, or clinical features suggestive of carcinoma) for the 65 HPV-positive WLHIV who underwent colposcopy and had tissue specimens for histology. HSIL, high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion; LSIL, low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion.
