TGF-β receptors bind the trunk domain of β2-adaptin. Full-length TβRI or TβRII was in vitro translated in the presence of [³⁵S]methionine. Equivalent amounts of receptor protein were incubated (1 h, 22°C) with equal molar amounts of GST fusion proteins consisting of the β2 trunk (amino acids 1–591), hinge (amino acids 592–700), or ear (amino acids 701–937) domains. After washing, bound receptors were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and autoradiography (see MATERIALS AND METHODS). The data are representative of three independent experiments.
