ARG1 expression in a UBR1 deletion strain . Yeast strains BY4741 (wild type [WT]), BY4425 (rad6Δ0), and BY14814 (ubr1Δ0) were grown to saturation in minimal medium and then diluted 1/100 in YPD. The cells were harvested, and total RNA was isolated. Twelve micrograms of total RNA was separated by electrophoresis on a 1.0% agarose formaldehyde gel and probed with ³²P-labeled DNAs specific for ARG1 and ACT1. The blot was visualized by autoradiography and quantitated by PhosphorImager analysis (ImageQuant 1.11). The blot shown is representative of three experiments.
