V. cholerae cytotoxicity toward J774 macrophages. J774 cells were infected for 2 h with V52 (wild type) and isogenic mutant SP500 (ΔrtxA, ΔhlyA) or mutant SP501 (ΔrtxA, ΔhlyA, ΔvasK). Cells were fixed with 3% paraformaldehyde to assess the morphology of infected cells.
