Effect of ghrelin on IA-2β and IA-2 expression in vivo. (A) Northern blot analysis for IA-2β mRNA from brain and pancreas of mice injected saline or 10 μg per mouse of ghrelin i.p. We loaded 2 μg of poly(A)⁺ mRNA in each lane. (B and C) cDNA prepared from mice injected with saline (□) or ghrelin (▪) for 15 min were subjected to QT-PCR analysis for IA-2β (B) or IA-2 (C) expression. Data of mRNA expression quantified by QT-PCR are expressed as fold stimulation relative to the values observed with mice that were stimulated by saline.
