The arrested spindles of hypoxic wild-type ncdgfp* and ncdnk11gfp* embryos show reduced centrosomal fluorescence (arrowheads), a gap at the metaphase plate (arrows) corresponding to the chromosomes, and accumulation of motorGFP* at distal ends of astral microtubules (asterisks).
