Luteinizing hormone (LH) from the blood circulation interacts with its receptors on Leydig cells to stimulate testosterone (T) production. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulates testicular macrophages, which, in turn, release cytokines and nitric oxide (NO) that block T formation by Leydig cells.
