Ligand-modulated VDR binding to the human p21(waf1/cip1) promoter. Chromatin was extracted from MCF-7 cells that had been treated for indicated time periods with 10 nM 1α,25(OH)₂D₃. ChIP assays using an antibody against VDR were performed. The VDR and RXR association of the 20 regions of the human p21^(waf1/cip1) promoter was monitored for the six treatment times. Precipitations with IgG served as controls for the specificity of the VDR detection. Representative agarose gels of at least three independent cell treatments are shown.
