Effect of MazG on the GTPase activity of Era. MazG was incubated with increasing concentrations of Era and 100 μM GTP with 5 μCi of [α-³²P]GTP in 20 μl of reaction buffer at 37°C for 30 min as described in Materials and Methods. Lanes 1 to 4, 0, 1, 5, and 10 μM Era, respectively, without MazG; lanes 5 to 8, 0, 1, 5, and 10 μM Era, respectively, with 0.5 μg of MazG. The hydrolysis products were assayed by polyethyleneimine-cellulose thin-layer chromatography. The positions of GTP, GDP, and GMP are indicated.
