Amounts of sucrose (A), glucose (B), and fructose (C) in the tip, middle, and base of the third leaf from wild-type (WT) and sxd1 plants. Leaves were sampled in the middle of a 14-hr photoperiod. Values from two independent experiments are shown, and each value represents the mean ±sd of five samples extracted from 15 4-mm-diameter leaf discs.
