Table 3.
Four-profile solution: composition, indicator means, and classification quality (N = 489).
| Profile | n (%) | SSEIT M | TEIQue M | SSEIT z | TEIQue z | AvePP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High EI | 140 (28.6) | 4.12 | 4.90 | +1.04 | +0.74 | 0.83 |
| Average EI | 167 (34.2) | 3.53 | 4.26 | +0.29 | −0.15 | 0.70 |
| Low EI | 158 (32.3) | 2.57 | 4.02 | −0.95 | −0.48 | 0.82 |
| Discordant EI | 24 (4.9) | 1.88 | 4.30 | −1.82 | −0.09 | 0.92 |
SSEIT range 1–5; TEIQue-SF range 1–7. z = standardized mean (sample-centered). AvePP = average posterior probability of most-likely membership. The Discordant profile combines very low self-perceived emotional skill (SSEIT) with a near-average trait self-concept (TEIQue-SF); the rank-order of profiles differs across the two indicators (a crossing pattern), indicating qualitatively distinct profiles. The Discordant profile was recovered in 49/50 multistart runs, persisted after removal of its three most extreme members, and appeared in 92% of the valid bootstrap resamples (1,353/1,471).
