Sedimentation analysis of NP₀-P complex formation. VVT7-infected A549 cells were transfected with the indicated NP and/or wt or mutant P plasmids. The cells were labeled with Tran³⁵S-label, and cytoplasmic cell extracts were prepared and fractionated on a glycerol gradient as described in Materials and Methods. Samples of the gradient fractions were immunoprecipitated with α-P and α-SV antibodies and analyzed by SDS-PAGE. Sedimentation is from left to right. The positions of the proteins are indicated.
