Figure 2:

(A) UpSet plot (18) showing intersections of six sets of RSSs. This plot includes results from running our RSS detection pipeline on both CHESS and GENCODE, and it compares those sets two four prior RSS annotations (Hoppe, Wan, Zhang, Sibley). (B) UpSet plot comparing RSS sets that we obtain by pooling the two tissues versus analyzing samples from each one independently. (C) Kernel density estimation plot of relative locations of RSSs within the maximal introns that contain them. With either gene annotation, RSSs are slightly enriched near the edges of their introns. (D) Sequence logo shows the information content in sequence surrounding RSSs detected with CHESS and pooled tissues. By construction, our RSSs have 100% conservation at the core tetranucleotide AGGT. 86.7% of our RSSs feature a pyrimidine immediately upstream of the AG.
