Incorporation of E1G and E2G chimeric glycoproteins into VSV virions. BHK cells were infected for 4 h with VSV-wt, VSVΔG-E1₃₅₂G, VSVΔG-E2₆₆₁G, or VSVΔG-E1₃₅₂G-E2₆₆₁G. The cells were then labeled overnight with [³⁵S]methionine, and virus was purified from the supernatant. Purified virus was analyzed by SDS-PAGE, and the positions of VSV proteins as well as E1₃₅₂G and E2₆₆₁G are indicated (left panels). Immunoprecipitations of proteins from the lysates by using the anti-G tail antibody are shown in the right panel.
