^aBALB/c mice were depleted of CD4⁺ T cells, CD8⁺ T cells, or both CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells as described in Materials and Methods. Depleted mice were ocularly infected with 2 × 10⁵ PFU of HSV-IL-2 per eye. Control undepleted mice were similarly infected with HSV-IL-2 or dLAT2903 as described in Materials and Methods. Mice were euthanized on the indicated days, eyes, brains, and TG were removed and homogenized, and virus titers were determined as described in Materials and Methods. Each value represents the mean PFU titer of extracts from six eyes, six TG, or three brains.
