Incorporation of chimeric gH molecules into virus particles. Cells were transfected with plasmids expressing wild-type gH (wt) or the chimeric constructs gH-CD8-CD8 or gH-gH-CD8 and were then infected with a gH-negative mutant at an MOI of 10 in the presence of [35S]methionine. Progeny virions were pelleted from culture supernatants, and lysates were examined for their isotope-labeled gH content by immunoprecipitation.
