(A) Effect of drugs on viral structural protein synthesis. A9 cells were infected and treated with drugs as described in Materials and Methods. At 18 h postinfection, cells were collected and lysed in protein-loading buffer. Proteins were resolved by sodium dodecyl sulfate-10% polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. After transfer to a polyvinylidene difluoride membrane, the blot was probed with a mouse anti-VP2 antibody followed by a horseradish peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibody.
